In today's patch including ship changes and the dueling mechanic, came some very useful UI changes as well as some great eye candy. Before the patch many players would have to switch to the solar system map to tweak their routes, and constantly look at the same backgrounds on the way to their destination. With the recent changes all of this is negated.
With the new changes you no longer have to switch to the map to alter your route. The new UI changes allow you to simply click on the route button, and have all of your options at your fingertips.
As you can see from the screenshot you have all of your route alterations simply by clicking the "A" next to Route, making it a much simpler task to switch up your route when traveling.
Another great option is the "Manage Route" option on the route context menu. This allows you to change your waypoints and optimize your route like you would in the solar system map, without actually opening it.
With all of the UI changes comes a bit of eye candy to go with it all. As you set routes to your destination, you will now see your route in the background.
The entire universe has been synced to where each stargate's jump graphic catapults you to the next jump in the route in the sky. So now you can see exactly where you're going, and where the systems are in the sky. Amazingly they have also made it to where this route changes in the sky as you change your route around.
While these are all great changes the solar system map itself is still in need of work. It is a bit more responsive, but still has context menu issues.
I hope that everyone enjoys these changes as much as I do! Have fun and fly safe. o7
